dynamic individual for the following vacant position in its IT department: -
APPLICATION SUPPORT OFFICER
The provide operational and
technical support to the end users of business applications to ensure that the
business benefits of applications continue to be achieved throughout their
lifetime.
Duties & Responsibilities:
. To
specify, implement, install and configure new business applications to ensure
that the product
. meets
the needs of the service area, liasing with various vendors where necessary.
To provide ongoing technical
maintenance and usage support of business applications in order to
.
maintain their reliability and business benefits.
.
Participate in business continuity planning & disaster recovery plan
testing
To analyse, define system
requirements and communicate with the system vendors for interface
.
development between business applications to provide integrated solutions.
To
understand the security threats posed to applications and devise and implement
security
.
measures to ensure integrity and confidentiality of data.
. To
analyse, test and implement additional functionality in the business
applications.
Analyze user reported application problems, identify its
root cause, determine possible solutions, liase with application vendors on
support related issues, test patches and implement solutions
. and
document change request.
. To test business application
patches and upgrades before release to production environment. Provide ongoing
production support in client/server computing environments of database
. systems as well as
utilization of SQL in performing normal database administration duties. To
perform backups of various business applications and to perform restoration of
data
.
periodically of the business applications.
Ensure periodic maintenance
of databases, software applications are performed and ensure timely
. user notification of
maintenance requirements and effects on system availability. Provide support on
ATM infrastructure.
Qualification:
. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
or Business Information Technology or other
related
degree or its equivalent in education and work experience.
. 2
years of work experience in supporting business critical applications.
.
Ability to communicate effectively in English and Kiswahili both verbally and
in writing
.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
. Self
motivated and the ability to work well as a member of a team.
. Must
be a Tanzanian National
Knowledge or certifications
on Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server Database will be an added advantage.
